Kew High School STEM Centre - Grand Opening
2Construct was thrilled to attend the Grand Opening of Kew High School's brand new STEM Centre! The 2Construct team joined Natalie Hutchins MP – Minister for Education, Kew High School Principal, Josie Millard, Anthony Carbines MP, Kew HS teachers, students and alumni for a ribbon cutting ceremony to declare the building officially open.
2Construct's scope of work involves the relocation of existing portable buildings and server room, partial demolition of the ground floor, levels 1 and 2 of the existing building, including asbestos removal and earthworks to create an embankment and exposed existing basement walls.
The new two-level STEM centre (Block A West) connects to the existing Block A North building and accommodates dynamic learning spaces and practical studios, workshop, print shop, staff room, canteen, pantry and student amenities. The new spaces will lead to exciting innovations in learning and teaching at Kew High School and is designed around collaborative learning to support creative and critical thinking.
The community at Kew High School has now begun learning and teaching in their amazing new building at the beginning of Term 2 2022. Their Science, Technology, Mathematics and Arts teams have worked together to ensure the experience of learning in the vibrant, collaborative environment, using the newest of technologies will prepare Kew High School students for dynamic futures in STEM.
